I am obsessed with owning a tiny home. My favorite models are the Tumbleweed Tiny Houses and Tortoiseshell Homes.
My dream tiny home is a combination of the Tumbleweed and the Tortoiseshell. There are other tiny homes that are super cool, but I love the Tumbleweed and Tortoiseshell concept because they are mobile. Plus it is a good starter home. Once we purchase land we could build something a little bigger, maybe 300 square feet.
It would be even better, if the Tumbleweed or Tortoiseshell folks built a little village and offered rental options.

This looks like a great idea. I think I could do this. but I’m no so sure I could convince my partner… Hard to get someone who is a pack rat to change.

Maybe you can encourage your partner to read some books on simplicity? Both my partner and I were pack rats before we started scaling down. So people can change!
