High energy prices are not going to decline anytime soon, which makes me fear that the global economy is heading into a long-term recession/depression. Politicians keeping telling us that “everything is okay,” but I am not buying their explanation – the “Tinkerbelle economy” is failing.
Conversations about peak oil are not happening in the mainstream media or in the public policy sphere, which is highly disturbing. Americans will not make fundamental changes in their lifestyle until they believe and accept the reality of peak oil, via education or economic necessity.
