Ever since we got back from vacation, I have been thinking of getting a doggie companion. I don’t know what has gotten into me — both of my cats would be a tad annoyed if we brought a dog into the household.

Cats are lovely animals! Both of my tiny tots are provide amazing camaraderie. However, I have been craving the kind of companionship only dogs can provide. Unfortunately, my cats can’t go on a run with me, camping or on long trips to the ranch.
Once we are settled in our tiny house, we will get a little dog.
Providing a home for Lola would be fun, but it would be rash to adopt a dog right now. The timing is bad for us. Especially, since our apartment complex does not allow dogs. Adopting a dog without having a home to bring the tot to is irresponsible. More importantly, I need to learn a lot more about dog training.
Poor L — I am so lucky to have such an amazing partner. The RowdyKitten is a major cheese ball and had a major case of puppy lust this week.
So before we take the puppy plunge, I will start donating my time and/or money to a local shelter and do a lot of reading on dog training.
The American Kennel Club has excellent information on dogs. Check out this section, “Be a Responsible Dog Owner.”
