WOW the end of month 3 has come and gone quickly. For those of you who are new to RowdyKittens, we have been following the program set forth in, Your Money or Your Life. Keeping track of our daily expenses and then analyzing them at the end of each month has been easy and fun!
The first 2 months were great, but the month of September didn’t go so well. The goals we laid out in August were reasonable, but we failed to follow through on #2 and #3.
1. Lowering our coffee consumption = FAIL. Our coffee consumption actually increased dramatically. By about 50%. Ouch I say! I am attributing this to the election madness, my obsession with the news, and a recent business trip to Seattle.
2. Decreasing our food costs = FAIL. Lowering our food costs in the near future doesn’t look promising because food costs continue to increase around the globe. But we are going to continue planning simple meals and look for ways to cut back.
3. What to do about rent? = Okay. Rent is something we are stuck with for a while, at least until we find a place to park our tiny house. Our tiny house quote arrived at the beginning of October, so we are continuing to save up for the home and considering all of our options.
