I’m participating in The Best of 2009 Blog Challenge. Are you?

Q. Tea of the year. I can taste my favorite tea right now. What’s yours?

A. I love drinking tea at home on a cold, rainy day. My favorite tea of 2009 is Earl Gray, with cream and sugar. It’s simple and easy to prepare. Plus…

Soothing teas ease tension and anxiety. Herbal beverages are stress busters, a boon to those who are on the fast track.

If you’re looking for something to drink after yoga, a cold bike ride, or a stressful day at work, tea is an excellent option.

I couldn’t live without my favorite…iced tea. I drink it year round regardless of the weather. Mostly I drink the regular type but bought a box of green tea today. I know that I’m behind the times! This will be the first time I’ve even tasted it. I used to drink mine with sugar but stopped adding it several years ago. Now it tastes wonderful without the added sweetener.

I just read somewhere that you’re moving to Portland soon! Being from Portland, and loving this rainy gray city, I’m always excited to see new and innovative people moving here. I’m always thrilled when artists I admire, or people I admire in general, move here as I see it as adding to the progressiveness of Portland.

And as far as tea goes…I am usually found enjoying yerba mate with stevia, a mix of earl grey with pomegranate and stevia, or earl grey with sugar and milk. Yum!

@Catherine – Yes I am moving to Portland and can’t wait. Our plan is to move up at the end of January/early February. Do you still live in Portland? If so, we should connect once I’m settled. We can have coffee/tea and talk about art, writing, etc.

Thanks for the tea suggestions – I’ll have to try them out. They sound delicious. :)

Hugs to you and thanks for reading the blog!

I choose loose green tea from a local place (near Mexico City). It doesn’t have that bitter taste the commercial ones have. I do enjoy the Earl Grey at work, where walking with a bag of loose leaves can be really misunderstood.

Tea has always been my favorite drink for it’s soothing effects, still I have a lot to learn about it.
