Lifestyle Design Guides
Simply Car-free
I wrote Simply Car-free to help people achieve their goals of saving money, improving their health, and living a simpler lifestyle. Reducing our dependence on cars clarified our priorities and showed us that anything is possible. Simply Car-free is an independently produced, digital book. The tips and tools in this book will save you much more than the purchase price. You can also purchase the ebook and read it on your kindle!
The Simple Guide to a Minimalist Life
Unless you’re a new reader you know that I’m a huge fan of Leo Babauta. He inspired me to rethink my life and change the direction of my career. I love his blog and books!
The Simple Guide to a Minimalist Life is full of useful tips, information and inspiration. I highly recommend this guide.
The Art of Being Minimalist
I’m a huge fan of Everett, from Far Beyond the Stars. He recently finished writing an amazing ebook called: The Art of Being Minimalist.
Everett is an extraordinary writer and this ebook will help you rethink your life choices, your consumption patterns and how you see the world.
Minimalist Business
Recently, I finished reading Everett’s new book, Minimalist Business, and was impressed with the content. It’s full of practical tips that have helped me focus on priorities and push past my fears. If you’re thinking of starting a small business to support yourself or want to take your blog to the next level, Minimalist Business is an excellent resource.
I think Everett’s book fills a huge need. People are hungry for information that can improve their professional lives and help them follow their dreams.
Chris Guillebeau’s “Unconventional Guides”
Social Media As a Force of Good. I love the book because it contains practical tips, plus the package I purchased came with a wide range of inspirational interviews. Social media beginners and experts will gain a lot of knowledge from this guide.
There are micro-actions throughout the ebook that will help you craft your message and get a better understanding of the social web. I’m working on a few mirco-actions that include: learning one new social media tool per week, trying new things offline and turning my online connections into personal connections.
Working for Yourself: In January, I participated in the $100 business course and it rocked! The class was perfect timing. Especially, since I’ll be working on my tiny business full time this year. It was a lot of fun helping others with their projects and learning from Chris, Pam and the forum members. The extra support helped me work past my fears, challenges and remember the big aha of 2009.
During this time I re-read Working for Yourself. It’s full of amazing tips and tools. If you are interested in becoming a full-time writer, blogger or artist, the tips offered by Chris are practical and easy to implement.
A Rockin’ Blogging Tool
Thesis for WordPress
I’m a huge fan of Chris Pearson and his amazing Thesis theme for WordPress. I’ve been using Thesis for the last year and absolutely love it. I can customize and change the look of RowdyKittens anytime I want without messing with my theme’s core code.
In addition, Thesis has already been made search engine friendly and has an amazing forum full of tips and tricks.
Tiny House Awesomeness
Portland Alternative Dwellings
I love tiny homes and I’m a huge fan of Portland Alternative Dwellings. Dee Williams and Katy Anderson recently finished their first set of plans and they are beautiful.
Logan and I have been pondering building our own tiny home for the last few years. When we do I’m going to hire Dee and Katy to create our little dwelling.
Educational Guides & Books
The Sticky eBook Formula
The Sticky eBook Formula is loaded with practical information and tips to assist writers. I read the entire book cover-to-cover in one sitting. If you’re planning on writing an ebook or creating a digital product this is a must read guide.
And don’t forget to check out Kelly’s blog.
A-List Blogging Bootcamps
Last year I read “How I got over 150,000 Subscribers: Lessons from Zen Habits” and learned an incredible amount from the report. The report was marvelous and I couldn’t believe Leo was giving it away for free! After reading the report, I knew I had to focus on writing amazing content if I wanted to start my own business and grow RowdyKittens.
Earlier this year, I re-read Leo’s report and decided to join the A-List Blogging Bootcamp. Whether you’re a new or seasoned blogger the bootcamps will give you the tips and tools to create a rockin’ blog. I’m incredibly happy with my decision to join the bootcamp. By implementing what I’ve learned my subscriber base has grown by 30%!
