Hydrangeas: Gift of 2009

Q. Gift. What’s a gift you gave yourself this year that has kept on giving?

A. Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers and I decided to cover my upper arm in ink with these lovely blossoms.

Why?

My Grandparents loved hydrangeas. They were everywhere in both of their tiny yards. As I kid, I remember walking up to their homes and admiring the blossom colors. The blues, pinks and white colors stood out like the stars.

My Grandparents were amazing people and when I look at my tattoo I’m reminded of two caring people who touched my life. People who taught me about the value of friendship, kindness and modest living.

The lovely Liz inspired me to write a a re-introduction post. Since the number of my blog readers has increased (thanks all for reading), I thought it would be fun to reintroduce myself and learn a little more about you too.

Who am I?

By day, I work for a non-profit and day dream of bike riding around New Zealand.

In my free time, I love to ride my bike, write and take photographs.

Some random facts..

I love all things related to simple living, including tiny homes, being carfree and counting up my stuff.
I have a few tattoos (a kitten and 3 hydrangeas)
I’m not a fan of television. It’s a time suck.
My new obsessions: yoga and tweed.
I have a hard time sitting still during the working day.
I might be hypoglycemic; if I don’t eat every few hours my level of crankiness skyrockets.
I love my baby tots: Elaina and Christie.
